Making

ärdəzən is a made-to-order furniture brand born from the meeting of French interior designers and a Portuguese workshop.

The name comes from the phonetics of the French word artisan. It says what we do: execute, piece by piece, what an architect has drawn for a specific place.

Making

We have no catalogue. Every project starts with a drawing, goes through a technical plan, a sample, sometimes a prototype, and ends with installation on site.

Our clients are architects and interior designers, in residential and contract work. They entrust us with the making; we owe them precision.

ärdəzən pieces are made in Paredes, Portugal, in the workshop of our production partner, ZALIA Design Furniture.

The process

  1. Brief and drawing

    We receive your drawing or brief and clarify dimensions, materials and how the piece sits in the space.

    Indicative lead time: 1 week (to confirm)

  2. Technical drawing and quotation

    Dimensioned shop drawing, joinery details and firm quotation.

    Indicative lead time: 2 weeks (to confirm)

  3. Material samples

    Wood, veneer, lacquer and metal samples sent to the practice.

  4. Prototype or pilot piece

    For complex or repeated pieces, a pilot piece is approved before production.

  5. Production and delivery

    Made in Paredes, checked piece by piece, delivered and installed by our teams or your contractor.
